NJO Symphony Orchestra conducted by Oliver Knussen

Each year the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands organizes the NJO Summer Academy. This project focuses on talented young musicians, selected by means of intensive auditions. The Summer School will be concluded by a concert at the concert hall of the Royal Conservatory of Copenhagen. This year internationally renowned composer Oliver Knussen has accepted the invitation of the NJO to become composer in residence and work with the young musicians. Knussen will also conduct the concert in Copenhagen. Soloists are William Purvis on horn and Anssi Karttunen on violoncello. The orchestra will play the following compositions:

C. Debussy - Nocturnes
H. Birtwistle - Night’s Black Bird
O. Knussen - Horn Concert
R. Strauss - Don Quixote

The entrance is free.
